Faded lines make a busy lot hard to read. Cars end up crooked, and someone parks in the access aisle. Greenfield Pavement Coatings does parking lot striping for businesses, churches, HOAs and retail sites around Clarksville and the Nashville area. We lay out new lots and restripe worn ones.
The work covers stall lines, arrows, stencils and fire lanes, plus ADA accessible spaces and their access aisles. Those spaces follow the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, which set how many a lot needs. Lines go back on after sealcoating covers the old ones. As an asphalt paving contractor in Clarksville, we can pave or seal the lot first, then stripe it.
Tell us about the driveway, parking lot or repair and where it is. We look at the job and put the quote in writing.
A new layout often goes on fresh asphalt. On a new parking lot, the site plan usually shows where every stall goes. Stall widths and aisle widths get measured and marked on the pavement before any paint goes down.
Restriping follows the lines a lot already has. After an asphalt overlay, the old lines sit under the new surface, so the whole layout gets painted again. A restripe is also a good time to change the layout.
Clarksville sits at the center of our service area. We stripe lots across Montgomery County and the Nashville area, out to Murfreesboro, Franklin, Hendersonville and Gallatin.
The ADA Standards for Accessible Design tie the count to the size of the lot. Up to 100 spaces, the standard calls for 1 accessible space for every 25, or part of 25. So a lot with 60 spaces needs 3, and bigger lots follow a longer table. The standard places these spaces on the shortest accessible route to an accessible entrance.
At least one accessible space in every six, or part of six, has to fit a van. Each accessible space gets an access aisle at least 5 feet wide and at least as long as the space. A car space is at least 8 feet wide. A van space is at least 11 feet wide with a 5-foot aisle, or 8 feet with an 8-foot aisle.
Widths are generally measured to the center of the painted lines. Two spaces can share one aisle, and the aisle is marked to discourage parking in it. Local codes can add rules, and Clarksville's adopted codes include a national accessibility standard. The city codes office can tell you which rules apply to your lot.
Fire lanes keep a path open for fire trucks. Clarksville has adopted the International Fire Code, which lets the fire code official require fire lane signs or markings. The signs or markings include the words NO PARKING FIRE LANE. The code also says they must stay clean and legible, and be repaired when they get hard to see.
We paint fire lane stripes and lettering where the fire official or the site plan puts them. Outside Clarksville, the local fire department can tell you which fire code its town follows.
Arrows show drivers which way a lane runs and where the exit is. Stencils put words and symbols on the pavement, like NO PARKING or the accessibility symbol. Where the ADA Standards call for a posted sign, a symbol painted on the pavement does not replace it.

We come out and look at the asphalt, the base under it and where the water runs. On a parking lot we also look at the traffic pattern and the striping.
The quote comes to you in writing with the work spelled out. Once you say yes, the job goes on the schedule. Weather can move the date, and we tell you when it does.
Failed asphalt is milled out, or the old surface comes up, where the job calls for it. Then the hot mix goes down with our pavers and is rolled while it is hot.
Parking lots get their striping once the asphalt has cured. We tell you how long to keep cars off the new surface. We also tell you when it will be ready for its first sealcoat.
